CAPITANES VETERAN NAMED MVP OF BAL

Walter Hodge of the Capitanes Arecibo just proclaimed himself a champion in the African Basketball League, with Zamalek from Egypt and was declared the MVP of the Final.
Hodge, a native of Guaynabo, was a star in the NCAA for the Florida Gators from 2005 to 2009 before Turning professional.

The 34-year-old Hodge has remained a professional since 2009, where he has played in Puerto Rico, Poland, Spain, Italy, France, and now in the NBA’s new league in Africa
Hodge averaged 15 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds per game while leading his team to the first ever championship in the Basketball Africa League
Hodge, will be reporting to Captains training coming soon, and will be in uniform from the first day of the 2021 BSN
season.

PONCE SIGNS THOMPSON

Leones de Ponce has signed Deon Thompson, NCAA Champion with the University of North Carolina in 2009, Germany in 2014, Israel in 2015, Serbia and Adriatic League in 2017 and Lithuania in 2019.
After having played his last game with Unicaja against Real Madrid, in which he led Unicaja with 16 points and 7 rebounds, Thompson will be the second reinforcement of the Ponce Lions in the 2021. season.
The 32 year old Thompson is a native of Torrance, CA. The 6’8” power forward went undrafted in the 2010 NBA draft, but has played internationally for 11 years consecutively.
